Robotic Guitar Tuner Prototype
Working with a friend, I created this quick prototype for a self-tuning guitar tuner. Utilizing a Fast Fourier Transform, it takes signals with a mic, and adjusts the tension of the guitar strings until the selected string is at the desired pitch. We utilized MATLAB to conduct the Fourier Transform and sent commands to an Arduino based on the intensity of the frequencies. A high torque continuous servo made time-interval based adjustments to the tuning pegs of the guitar until the pitch of the string was within tolerance of the desired pitch.
