This Miniature RC Vehicle was made for a point-scoring oriented competition--points were earned either by placing oddly-shaped balls in hoops or by traversing a bumpy ramp (or both).
In a team of three, we designed this device to be simple yet effective at scoring points. Utilizing a simple cantilever, we were able to pierce the balls so that we could place them in the tallest (and highest scoring) hoops, while also having a large enough wheel system to ascend the bumpy ramp. All is fully designed in CAD (SolidWorks), and is ultimately comprised mainly of laser-cut and 3D printed material. It is driven by two disassembled electric drill motors, and has specially molded back wheels for added friction while driving and steering.
We came close to winning, but in the end, it came down to human error on the part of the operator during the competition.
